The “Downton Abbey” movie September 20th release day approaches, and we have nine new posters of the cast posing inside the Grantham estate. It’s terrific to see everyone again.
As we were looking at the new posters for the upcoming movie adaptation of Julian Fellowes’ long-running period drama, we realized that they stitch together to make running portraits: one for upstairs, and another for the downstairs crew. Click on the photos to see larger images of the posters in their full glory.
From the trailer (below), we know that the Crawley family is preparing for a visit from the king and queen of England, and from the downstairs posters, it would appear the kitchen is in full swing.
The upcoming film, which is set beginning in 1927, stars the upstairs cast (pictured left to right): Maggie Smith (Violet Crawley), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley), Elizabeth McGovern (Cora Crawley), Harry Hadden-Paton (Bertie Pelham), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith), Matthew Goode (Henry Talbot), Allen Leech (Tom Branson).
The downstairs cast includes (pictured left to right): Brendan Coyle (John Bates), Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates), Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore), Sophie McShera (Daisy Mason), Robert James-Collier (Thomas Barrow), Michael Fox (Andy), Kevin Doyle (Molesley), Raquel Cassidy (Baxter), Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes), Jim Carter (Mr. Carson).
David Haig, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, Imelda Staunton, Tuppence Middleton, Stephen Campbell Moore, Kate Phillips, and Penelope Wilton aren’t pictured, but are also in the “Downton Abbey” movie.
